The ATS 2018 will be held at Hefei city of Anhui province.
Hefei, the capital of Anhui province, is located in the central region of China, between Yangtze River and Huaihe River, and also near Chaohu Lake.
The location of Hefei city is of strategic importance to China, since it is easily accessible from other major cities of central China, through motor ways or high-speed rail.
Hefei has a history of more than 2000 years, and is well known both interiorly and abroad as “a historic site famous from the Three Kingdoms Period and the hometown of Lord Bao from Song Dynasty”.
Since the late Eastern Han Dynasty, Hefei has been made the provincial capital several times by the local government as a county or prefecture, because of its constant importance as an administration center and crucial military stronghold in the region between Huaihe River and Yangtze River.
Hefei has many historical and cultural sites, such as Xiaoyaojin Park, located at the northeastern corner of Hefei old urban area, is a multi-functional public park with various service facilities, pleasant environment and beautiful scenery. The ancestral temple of Lord Bao was constructed in memory of Zheng Bao who is idealized as an upright and honest official and a political reformer in Song Dynasty. Moreover, a historical town with a history of more than 2500 years, called Three Rivers Town, is located in the Hefei-Huangshan-Jiuhuashan golden tourist route, 40km away from the city proper of Hefei. Its name was derived from the fact that three rivers, namely Fengle River, Hangbu River and Xiaonan River, intersect here. Last but not least, Hui Garden, located in Jingkai District of Hefei, covers an area of 200,000 square meters, is a spectacle not to be missed. The overall layout of Hui Garden is based on the basic structure of Anhui’s administrative distribution. The Yangtze River and Huai River run through the garden. The rich and colorful artistic charms of central Chinese culture nurtured by Northern Anhui, the Yangtze River and Huai River culture represented by Central Anhui and original Hui Culture rooted from Southern Anhui, are all eye-catching and impressive to those who visit the garden.
